Put the torch heads out in the sun to charge. Assembled and placed where I desired them. after sunset turned them on stood back several feet. Wife and I were amazed. Will buy more. they were still at full intensity just before sunrise. So realistic from a slight distance. (12 feet and beyond, up close is okay too)

We are redoing a walkway in the back yard and the area is too torn up to place the lights yet, so my husband stuck them in some bottlebrush shrubs off the front porch so they could charge. On the very first night our dog came whining into our bedroom, it appears the lights were so realistic and bright that the dog would not sleep in his favorite chair until we pulled the blinds down. The next day we went out for a few hours and it was dark as we came home. From the end of the block we could see not just the bright light, but the flickering effects, just what we wanted. I can't wait for our walkway in the back to be complete so we can get these permanently installed and another set ordered for the seating area of our firepit once it is completed.

The media could not be loaded. These lights are amazing!!!! They are in all night long and they flicker like real flames. They aren’t small either which is something I really love too. Looks so real you will think they are. Had an issues with the spikes. That is the only downside of these. They are all plastic and they will crack very easily. What I did is buy rebar the 2 foot size and used a Mallot to bang them in. I found they are sturdy and stand up better with the steel. Customer service with Amazon was great !!! So happy with them and you will be too. Their are a lot of others to chose from and I am so glad I chose these.

I have always had solar lights around the perimeter of our patio. I decided to try these lights because they were taller than the ones I've had in the past and according to the description, would look like tiki lights. The lights are great. Easy to assemble...you can use two poles and they will be tall or one and they'll be shorter. (I used one). You put a stake in the ground and set the pole/light on it. The light IS really cool...it DOES look like a flickering flame. You press a button at the base of the light to turn it on and leave it on. They are not affected by rain. We had rain and wind one day and all six of the poles fell over and the plastic at the base of the poles cracked. I taped them with black tape, but am thinking about also replacing the stake in the ground with a longer metal pole. The light is top heavy and the stake is only about an inch or two tall, so in wind, it tips over. We live in the country and are not very protected from wind. So if wind isn't a problem this would be perfect for you. I also have a couple of the lights in flower planters which is really cool during the day and at night.

I got two sets of these last year to line our walkway leading from up the back patio steps to the fence gate to our alley (a present for my partner.). I love them. They are very pretty. Unobtrusive during the day - I have them at their lowest height setting. But once dusk comes they start to flicker on, and they stay on until the sun is coming up. The 'flames' do look fairly realistic, they are a nice gentle orange color. They are not too bright, but do light the pathway well. None have malfunctioned or broken, after having been exposed to the elements: rain, heat, ice, snow, critters, dogs, etc for nine months so they seem durable. The solar cells must be good, because we have had rain/storms here for the past week in the mid-Atlantic and they are still on all night. The only reason I am writing this review:. A few nights ago we had an outdoor dinner gathering for around 10 friends. Once dusk came and these guys started to come on, I was inundated with questions because everyone liked them so much. They made me promise to look at my purchase history/send a link. I think that's a pretty good endorsement.

My husband wasn't interested in tiki torches, but I got them to mark my 15 random tomato spots that are mixed in throughout the landscaping beds so it's easier to locate them in the spring for digging each year. Turns out it's the perfect spacing for these beautiful torches throughtout the landscape and now he loves them! We love to sit out at the fire at sunset and watch the torches come on in the all the beds and light up the darkness. The flame looks so real and the yard feels so cozy now. The switch didn't work on 1 or 2 out of the box...seemed to have a short because it would quickly turn on then immediately off. I exchanged them and the new ones all work perfect. We LOVE them. Buy 'em, you won't regret it!

These torches have the best looking simulated flame. I would highly recommend these torches to everybody. No negatives that I can find.

I ordered 3 or 4 boxes last year to share and keep. I've recently ordered 3 more boxes because I really do like these torches. They are so bright and truely realistic, even standing beside them. The dancing flames on the 43" poles give out much light, but can also be a romantic mood enhancer. They will be perfect for our RV Camping trips also. One thing though, I need to go ahead and order extra solar, rechargeable batteries for them. Never want them to go out. Please publish that info within item description.

I bought a two-pack of these almost 3 years ago and they still come to life every evening and shine as bright as they did on day one. They have required zero attention this entire time, and they take about one minute to set up out of the box. I was so happy with them I just bought four more. I don’t know how the other brands work; looks like there may be some cheaper ones out there, but I have been 100% happy with these. I have mounted mine through the squares in my American wire fence next to a post. I absolutely recommend these lights.

There are many knock off brands selling these tiki lights so I did a ton of research before I chose the TomCare brand. These TomCare Solar Lights 2nd Version Flickering Flame Solar Torches have well over 2000 reviews and maintain a 5 star rating. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH that I now have a total of 16 torches and 4 of the hanging lanterns. I have the "tropical paradise" look that I was after and my back yard is literally ablaze with tiki lanterns that in my opinion look real. So real that my husband says any day now he expects the Fire Department to show up to see what is going on! Out of the 20 lights I purchased only ONE of them did not work. I contacted the company and within a week I received a replacement torch -- what more could I ask for? Well -- in my case -- I would ask for more lights -- so I'm off to place another order :)
